Kalaiya : The production of rice in Bara district has increased. In comparision to last season, only 52 thaousand six hundred and 21 metric tonnes of rice is produced. While this year rice production is 55 thousand 2 hundred 57 metric tonnes.
According to the District Agricultureal Development office(DADO), Bara, this year rice is planted across 13 thousand 1 hundred 56 hectare area yielding around Rs 1.21 billion.
Similarly, the paddy planted across 12 thousand 5 thousand 30 hectare area last fiscal year resulted in the production of 52 thousand 6 hundred 21 metric tonnes of rice, shared DADO Bara Chief Shiva Ratna Shah.
Around 4.2 metric tonnes of rice was harvested per hectare of land and was sold for Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,300 per quintal in the current fiscal year.
